I started on 1 Jan 2023. That was when my first taobao haul arrived

I created the ArtBox because I was unsatisfied with the existing painting gels available on the market. The gels that are good for painting were only available in inconvenient, individual pots. Meanwhile, the gels that were stored in palettes were too thick for painting. Up until 2025, colour selection was limited across all brands. Additionally, each gel palette provided a maximum of 2.5ml per colour, which is far too little for an artist such as myself who paints extensively and require lots of product. I also hate the idea of frequently getting refills - it is wasteful and expensive. Knowing the clear solution to perfecting gel palettes on the market, I began looking into manufacturers to have it professionally made.

Actually no! I initially created solely for the purpose for self-fulfilling my ideal-palette-dreams. The only reason I sold it to others at the start via the pre-order system was to crowd-fund the very expensive project. Even after the pre-orders were complete, there was still more demand for the product. Thus, I re-invested the earnings back into the business to create more products.

I'm completely self-taught when it comes to nail art. It included watching free resources on social media such as XHS, adopting methods commonly used in the art industry as well as lots of practise.
